Pollo Rey Mexican Restaurant
This is a new restaurant in East Ridge, TN. It is on a nice corner location that has been the home for many restaurants through the years. Some of you may remember the train in the parking lot. Edgar Perez and his wife opened the place last week on Thursday and they would be honored to serve you. Right now during the grand opening, everything is 10% off. Edgar brought my son & I a complimentary piece of chicken, which was a nice touch. I had a late lunch, so I only tried the tacos but my son had one of the house specials, Rey Pollo. The plate was large… and the prices here are low. The Rey Pollo is grilled chicken served over rice and drizzled with a cheese sauce and a side of tortillas. I tried a bite and it was good. Tacos are served with shredded lettuce and cheese, not the traditional onion and cilantro that I have become accustomed to from the places I have explored around Dalton, GA. I requested them “my way” and they were happy to comply. Somehow when they arrived at the table, they were not as promised ? I dismiss that as new restaurant “jitters” of some kind. There was no complaint in replacing the order promptly. I think given a chance, this will become one of my regular sources of Mexican food.
